Dayton Digital Networks main background is networking. We own our own wireless network. This allows us to completely bypass the phone company to provide uniquely scalable high-speed access. Our wireless network capabilities cover all of downtown Dayton and reach the outer rim of the Miami Valley.

Through our alliances with several wireless manufacturers, we deploy our wireless solutions in Dayton. We do not partner with any other provider - the services we offer are our own.  Currently we serve the WiFi standard exclusively.

What is WiFi?

WiFi is short for Wireless Fidelity. WiFi refers to any product or service using any type of 802.11 technology. WiFi networks operate in the unlicensed 2.4 and 5 GHz radio bands, with an 11 Mbps (802.11b) or 54 Mbps (802.11a) data rate, respectively. Relax, that's the only technical specifications you need to know.

Why Wireless?

Wireless has a number of advantages:

1) first, it's wireless - as in: needs no wires - so there is little concern that the copper pair lines (for T1) aren't available or are of a too poor quality to support Broadband service;

2) with wireless - the service area is greater than with DSL or other wire-based broadband technologies - if you can see the Key Bank Building, you can have wireless Internet service from Dayton Digital Networks;

3) the cost to deploy WiFi is far less than with DSL;

4) upgrades are cheaper. If you want faster Internet service, all we do is replace the radio (believe us, this is not your grandfather’s radio) instead of running new copper wire between our Operations Center and your site; and

5) lastly, wireless equipment is on the right end of the technology curve ensuring you have the latest technology without adding patches and intermediate fixes to an aging technology.
